As you can see, more people are taking control over their social media privacy settings compared to a few years ago, particularly in terms of deleting comments, untagging photos, and unfriending someone. While 85% of CMOs ranked increasing sales/revenue as their top email marketing objective, only 65% found it to be effective at achieving that objective. Driving website traffic, increasing lead generation, and nurturing prospects all ranked higher in terms of effectiveness.
According to data released by Gigya, users logged in to a social network spend 50 percent more time on a site. The data also concluded that users logged in with a social platform will view twice the number of pages compared to users with a standard login.
The interaction from users logged into a site via social platform was significantly higher than users not using a social plugin, including comments, news review, and social shares.

The results clearly show that on-site social technology brings real value to sites. Perhaps most notably, we can see that social login and social plugins are correlated with major increases in time spent on-site and page views. The biggest increases in time spent and engagement are seen when users leverage social login and interact with our Comments plugin allowing them to share opinions on content and interact with other users – including those from their social graph – on-site. From these points alone, it’s fairly easy to conclude that users want to be social wherever they go across the web.
